Privacy Policy
When Patient Privacy Matters
DentaleShare believes strongly in protecting individual user privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information that you share with us. This policy describes how we collect and use your personally identifiable information (“PII”) when accessing or using DentaleShare’s website (“Site”).
Collection of Personal Information
DentaleShare is dedicated to providing you with a safe and secure environment when uploading, exchanging, collaborating, and downloading dental X-ray and photographic images and notes on the Site. All of your content and image files are password protected and are not visible to others unless you explicitly share them.
PII is any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, company name, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, postal or other physical address, occupation and/or such other information that is linked or linkable to an individual.
Use of Personal Information
DentaleShare uses PII for several general purposes: to fulfill your requests for certain services, to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, software updates, special offers or other information we think you’d like to hear about either from us or from our business partners, and to better understand your needs and provide you with better services. We may also use your information to send you promotional materials about goods and services either offered by DentaleShare or by third parties. You may opt out of receiving these communications.
Review and Access of Personal Information
Upon your request, you can review a summary of the information we collect about you. You will have an opportunity to correct, update or modify this information. If you wish to exercise this right, please contact us and we will be more than happy to assist you.
Choice/Opt-Out
You understand and agree that DentaleShare may communicate to you regarding changes or updates to the Privacy Policy, service announcements and administrative messages. DentaleShare reserves the right to provide you with these notices by (but not limited to), telephone, facsimile, e-mail, postage mail, or other reasonable means now known or hereafter developed. By accepting these Terms and by using the Site You agree to receive these forms of communications from DentaleShare. These communications are considered part of DentaleShare agreement and you will not be able to opt-out of receiving them.
If we send you information by e-mail concerning new products or services that you did not expressly request, you may elect to opt-out of receiving direct marketing or market research information. You may do so at any time by clicking on the “Unsubscribe from this e-mail” button located at the bottom of the specific e-mail correspondence you wish to no longer receive. This means we assume you have given us the consent to collect and use your information in accordance with this Policy unless you take affirmative action to opt out at the point of collection. Opt-out is the means by which you give us, or decline to give us, your consent to use your PII for the purposes covered by the opt-out Policy.
DentaleShare will not transfer your PII to third parties, except we may transfer your PII without your consent to the extent required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of law or comply with legal process served on the Site; (b) protect or defend the rights of property of DentaleShare; (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety, property, or privacy of DentaleShare’s employees, users of DentaleShare’s services, or members of the public; or (d) effect a transaction, restructuring or proceeding that transfers to a third party the assets or line of business to which the information pertains. If you choose to provide us with your PII, we may transfer that information within DentaleShare or to DentaleShare’s third party service providers with your permission. In addition, DentaleShare may send your PII to other companies or people under any of the following circumstances: (a) when we have your consent to share the information; (b) when we need to share your information to provide the service you have requested; (c) when we need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of DentaleShare to provide service to you (we will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose); or (d) when we want to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, software updates, special offers or other information we think you’d like to hear about either from us or from our business partners (unless you have opted out of these types of communications as indicated in the section above).
In addition, we may share non-identifiable aggregate information about our users (for example, the proportion of single practice and multi-practice users) with advertisers, business partners, and other third parties in an effort to customize or enhance the content and advertising on our Site for our users.
Cookies and Tracking Technology
Like most websites, DentaleShare may make use of browser cookies. Cookies are strings of text and numbers that can identify your computer to us when you visit our site. They allow us to see if you have logged in, check your status as a member, and facilitate access to your preferences. DentaleShare will not use cookies to retrieve information from a computer that is unrelated to our site or services. DentaleShare may also use transparent GIF images. We would use these images to track the e-mails that we send out to our members.
IP Address
When you visit the Site, we log standard information such as your IP address, which is a number that can be used to identify your location and Internet Service Provider (ISP), along with the URL from which you came to our site and the URLs visited on our site. A URL is the full address of a website page, which may or may not contain some PII about the person who is viewing the Site.
When we send messages to you or others, we may provide a URL link to the Site that contains an alphanumeric identifier, which allows us to identify the person to whom we sent the message so that we can personalize our content for that individual.
Third Party Advertising
Some of the advertisements appearing on the Site may be supplied by one of our third party partners. Information about your visit to their sites, such as number of times you have viewed an ad, may be used to better serve advertisement pieces to you. However, DentaleShare does not disclose, rent, sell or share your PII about you with any third party partners.
Business Transitions
In the event DentaleShare goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company or sale of a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.
Online Surveys
DentaleShare may request information from you via online surveys. Participation in these surveys is voluntary. You are under no obligation to participate in such surveys. Therefore, it is your choice whether or not you wish to disclose any information. The purpose of online surveys is for us to perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses to improve customer satisfaction and to customize product and service offerings.
Hyperlinks to Other Sites
As part of our services we provide to our clients, DentaleShare may create hyperlinks to other websites or resources. DentaleShare makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, availability, suitability or safety of information provided on these external websites or resources to which you may be directed or hyperlinked from this Site. Please consult those sites’ individual privacy policies in order to determine how they treat user information.
Reference to any products, services, processes, or other information, by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, supplier, or otherwise does not constitute or imply endorsement, sponsorship or recommendation thereof by DentaleShare.
Security
Your PII is protected for your privacy and security. DentaleShare safeguards the security and confidentiality of the data you send us with physical, technical, and managerial procedures. Please be aware that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. While we strive to protect your PII, we cannot ensure the security of the information you transmit to us, and so we urgeyou to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often, use a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you use a secure Web browser.
DentaleShare controls access to PII through access enforcement control list. We implement a role- based access control list and configure the list so that each user can access only the pieces of information necessary for the user’s role.
DentaleShare uses a high-grade Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology with a unique 128-bit encryption to provide a secure connection between your Web browser and our server. SSL encryption technology ensures that any information being transmitted is encrypted before being sent over the Internet.
Our Site may contain links to websites operated by other companies. Although we choose our business partners carefully, DentaleShare is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites operated by third parties that are linked to our Site. Once you have left our website, you should check the applicable privacy policy of the third party website to determine how they will handle any information they collect from you.
Changes to This Private Policy
DentaleShare reserves the right to change this policy from time to time. If there are any substantial changes in the way your personal information will be used by our Site, we will notify you of the change and how to review the revised Privacy Policy on this Site.
